A Book about the First Occupied City of Eastern Ukraine Was Presented in Slovakia
On 21–22 November, human rights activists of the “Eastern Ukrainian Center for Civic Initiative” presented the book ‘The City Where the War Began’ and discussed the Russian-Ukrainian war in Slovakia.  The events were held at the Educational Centre of the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica and for high school students at the Bilingual Secondary School Evangelical United School in Martin.

“Eastern Ukrainian Center for Civic Initiative” Wins the Case on Concealing City Master Plans in the ECtHR
The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that the concealment of master plans of various urban settlements from Ukrainian citizens is a violation of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The Court recognized that Article 10 of the Convention on freedom of expression, which includes the right to freely receive and impart information, was violated.  The judgement was made following a complaint filed by the NGO “Eastern Ukrainian Center for Civic Initiative” that has been working for many years to get access to the master plans of various urban settlements for the public.

Kharkiv hosted the presentation of a book about the first occupied city of Donbas and a discussion of the fate of other cities during the war
On August 17, the Kharkiv Literary Museum hosted the presentation of the book “The City Where the War Began” about the occupation of Sloviansk in 2014 made by human rights defenders from the Eastern Ukrainian Center for Civic Initiatives.

EUCCI conducted a training on writing essays for a new group of people who survived Russian occupation
From June 28 to June 30, the Eastern Ukrainian Center for Civic Initiatives conducted another training on essay writing: "Tell the world about your experience of life under occupation." This is the second time we have gathered people who have lived under occupation, to help them to write about their experiences in their own words.
